Golf. The seductive mistress of sports. It’s breathlessly beautiful, and yet has no problem taking your money and making your significant other angry. It’s also a time-gated sport here in Canada. That is, of course, until you learn of Dante’s Golf Lounge. A state-of-the-art golf simulator nestled quaintly among the splendor of the Rise Golf Course and the Edge Restaurant. Boasting two screens and an air of privacy, this has got to be among the top golf simulators I have had the pleasure of visiting. The accuracy of the simulator is definitely comparable to how you might play out on the course, and this offers a great way to stay in the… swing of things… during the off-season. I’d like to give a special point of mention to one of the staff members that work there—Meghan. Captivatingly pretty, resplendently convivial, and a top tier hostess. She is knowledgeable, smart, informative, and always willing to go above and beyond. How do I know this? I’ll tell you… On one of my joyful visits to Dante’s, I happened to bring the mini-human. Her dad and I had planned a 4-hour golf day and at first, she was all too eager. But, as is often the case with kids—her attention waned a bit after around 5 holes. She toughed it out though, and sat quietly in one of the many comfy lounge chairs offered in both simulator rooms. She went up to get a drink of water and after a while both her dad and I noticed that she had not returned to the sim. We looked out toward the counter, and there she was, chatting away with Meghan. Meghan had taken it upon herself to play games with her and keep her occupied while we finished our round. Fast-forward several weeks later on another visit to the lounge, and Meghan queried to me, asking if I had brought her little friend back to hang out with her, using her name and everything. She remembered. That is not service you can fake or implement if it were not sincere. So, Meghan—thank you. You are definitely an ace that softens the punishing blow of the inevitable bogeys that litter my golf game. 10/10 recommend this place. Absolutely worth the drive. Try the truffle fries. You won’t regret it.
