The Best… Just returned from my first golf trip and actual rounds. 4 months removed from our Experience in late November. Prior to the experience I was a 17.1 HC that was actually getting worse from the instruction I was receiving. Constantly on the course or the range hitting shots in all directions not truly knowing why they were going left, right or even straight at times. Prior to the experience my bad shot was a smothered hook. Like many, when that shot would creep in it was a fight all day to correct it. This past Sunday on the back 9 at Club Karibana in Cartagena the winds were swirling and blowing 20-30mph with gust close to 40mph! I was able to shoot a 5 over 41 (84 total) in these conditions because of the tools that I was given and have been working on since November. The best part about all of this is on the 11th hole, a par 3 playing 170 with winds into and off of the right I hit the dreaded smothered hook! Yep! You read that right.. Normally I would have freaked and asked what the heck just happened. Because I now have a much more accurate understanding of ball flight laws I knew instantly what the issue was. My playing partner who recognized how well I was playing says to me. That’s the first bad swing I’ve seen from you today. Can you fix it and finish this round. I confidently looked at him and said.. I got this! The next swing was a piped drive right down the middle. I made 1 other bad swing but was again able to identify what happened and immediately correct it. For me to be able to shoot a 41 in those conditions on that course just 4 months post Golf Room Experience is absolutely incredible. That 41 could have easily been a 37/38 as I left at least 1 birdie putt short, burned the edge in a couple more and had a few par putts lipped out as well. Much work still left to do but I wanted to share with you my experience and what I feel is an absolutely amazing transformation. Breaking 80 is definitely a goal that is well with in reach this year.
